Coast of Cabo De Palos

Diving and snorkeling paradise in Murcia

Cabo de Palos is one of the most beautiful towns on the Murcian Coast. Its cliffy coastline forms the southern end of the Cordillera Bética, which submerges here, forming a succession of underwater mountains that attract a large amount of marine life around it.

The Marine Reserve extends towards the coast, so its extraordinary biodiversity is also reproduced on a small scale in its wild and beautiful coves, which are a true paradise for diving and snorkeling.

Here, we can also enjoy amazing underwater experiences in Cala Tunez, Cala Fría, Cala Reona, Cala La Galera, La Escalerica, Cala Flores, and El Descargador, some of which border the coast of Cabo de Palos.

Schools of salps, groups of white seabream, rays, octopuses, cuttlefish, trumpet fish, small groupers, and numerous scorpionfish delight divers.

Our coves

La Escalerica

This charming cove, very close to the Cabo de Palos lighthouse, offers many attractions for diving and is perfect for all levels. We reach it after a short navigation to immerse ourselves among extensive Posidonia meadows that host large groups of salps, white seabream, trumpet fish, octopuses, and typical Mediterranean life.

Cala Fría

Dominated by the Cabo de Palos lighthouse, we find Cala Fria. Its waters border the Marine Reserve of the Islas Hormigas in its most open area, so many of the surpluses of the Reserve come to take refuge in its multitude of rocks, nooks, channels, and holes.

The Downloader

In the Cala Flores area, in the surroundings of Cabo de Palos, we find some rock formations among which a large rock of 50 m in diameter stands out, isolated on a sandy bottom where we find salps, small groupers, and some groups of white seabream.

Cala Túnez

Largely covered by abundant Posidonia Oceanica meadows, in which fry of different Mediterranean species take refuge, it is a perfect place for beginners as it is protected from the Lebeche wind. Groups of salps, sea bass, wahoo, and meagre abound.
