Scientific Diving

Who this course is for:

For certified divers looking to learn research techniques used during diving and learn more about the underwater world, including the environment and aquatic life. It is also an interesting training for recreational diving instructors who wish to participate in citizen science programs.

Course prerequisites:

• OWD Diver
• Valid diving insurance

What you can expect to learn:

• Mediterranean marine ecosystem: basic ecology and oceanography
• Diving techniques applied to scientific diving
• Identification of marine life
• Data collection in seagrass beds
• Fish census in marine ecology and data recording
• Research, sport, and conservation
